Saint Paul Park Conservancy Fundraising

Rice Park Fund Development

Founded in 2008, the Saint Paul Parks Conservancy raises funds from the private sector (individuals, corporations, foundations) for parks and recreation programs in the city of Saint Paul. Dowell Management has managed the 501 (c) 3 organization for the past three years. In December of 2015, the Conservancy, the Saint Paul Garden Club and the Rice Park Association formed a partnership to raise $1.35 million for the revitalization of Rice Park. Rice Park is the center of Saint Paul’s downtown and has long been a popular venue for major events and festivals as well as weddings and family gatherings. Dowell Management was engaged to manage the fundraising campaign for the capital project.

Association fundraising, MNThe campaign resulted in reaching the fundraising goal over a 18- month period. The fundraising team, a group of 10 volunteers from the three partnering organizations, successfully identified prospective donors, matched the prospective donors with the right volunteer and approach for the ask, and met the benchmarks set out at the beginning of the campaign. The success of this highly-organized campaign has the Parks Conservancy well-positioned in the community to fundraise and support other parks and recreation projects.
