Larry Dowell, President
Larry's career spans over 30 years in organizational management within the chamber of commerce industry in the upper Midwest, with an emphasis on coalition development, local and state public policy, economic development and political action.
Throughout his career, Larry has served as a manager, executive director, executive vice president, and president for Chambers in Rugby, North Dakota, as well as Alexandria, Montevideo, South Saint Paul and Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota, and the Twin West Chamber of Commerce. Prior to retiring as president/CEO from the Saint Paul Area Chamber of Commerce, Larry spent ten years building the organization into the largest local and regional chamber of commerce in the state of Minnesota, representing nearly 2,200 business members.
An active board member of several community organizations, Larry also provides ongoing leadership within the chamber of commerce industry. He is a member and past president of the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce Executives and serves on several community boards.
Katie Klein, Business Manager/Client Services Manager
Katie's career with Dowell Management began in early 2008 as the first full-time team member hired by the company. As the company's Business and Client Services Manager, Katie's responsibilities include client relations, project management and office administration. She has previous professional experience with Thomson Reuters and Paradise & Associates, where her work focused on finance, accounting and communications. Katie earned her degree in Business
Management and Public Relations from the University of St. Thomas in Saint Paul.
Chad Kulas, Public Affairs Manager
Chad joined the Dowell Management team in August 2010. A Journalism major from the University of St. Thomas, Chad has spent the past eight years specializing in public affairs and communications work at the City of Saint Paul, the Saint Paul Area Chamber of Commerce and the University of Minnesota. Chad serves as an account executive for multiple Dowell Management clients. When he’s not providing leadership to a specific client, Chad focuses on writing and government affairs.
Carrie Kirkpatrick, Operations Manager
Carrie Kirkpatrick uses her previous experience as a consultant to companies looking to update their marketing and communications strategies in her role as Operations Manager. She assists with coalition and association management on several projects and serves as Dowell Management's in-house graphic designer. and manages all client operations. Carrie joined Dowell Management in June 2011 and earned her Political Communications and Statistics degrees from St. Olaf College, where she focused on research design and survey methodology. She excels at designing communication pieces for both Dowell Management and clients quickly and creatively.
Russ Korpela, On-Site Director, Wisconsin
Russ joined the Dowell Management team in October of 2012 as the On-Site Director in Wisconsin. Russ has previous experience in banking, serving as the mayor of Ashland, WI and as the executive director of several chambers of commerce. Before joining Dowell Management, Russ most recently served as the director of the New Richmond, WI Chamber of Commerce. Russ currently leads Momentum West, a regional economic development organization in west central Wisconsin on behalf of Dowell Management and is also in charge of developing new client relationships in that state.
Tyler Verry, Client Services Manager
Tyler joined Dowell Management as the Client Services Manager in June of 2013. His previous experience as the Executive Director of a statewide Minnesota-based association and as Outreach Coordinator for several political campaigns prepared him to be able to serve a variety of clients as an account and project manager. Tyler earned his political science degree from the University of Minnesota and management training through the Carlson School of Management.
